Pregnancy Fitness and Health- Hydrate Your Body

Yesterday on “Pregnancy Talk with Sara”, Dr. Angela Patterson discussed the importance of hydrating your body especially when you’re pregnant.  She emphasized that pregnant women should drink more water when they’re pregnant (i.e. 10-12 eight ounce glasses per day) and if you are active pregnant women you should drink 12-14 eight ounce glasses per day.  She indicated that pre-term labor is associated with dehydration.  Benefits of hydrating your body include better digestion, less water retention (edema), improved skin (i.e. “glow”), and hair.
