Postpartum Weight Loss: Eating Away from Home

“How do you eat healthy when you’re away from home?”  That’s a question I often get, and the answer is, it isn’t easy, you have to work at it especially if you’re staying w/ someone who prepares rich foods high in fat and calories.  My tip is to go shopping once you’re there and pick up a few healthy snacking foods such as bananas, blueberries, strawberries, carrots, peanut butter, whole wheat bread, almonds, and protein bars.  In between meals be sure to eat your healthy food choices when your body is hungry.  This way when you eat your host’s food you’ll eat a smaller portion.  This way you can enjoy their food without packing on unwanted pounds while you’re away from home.  Also offer to cook one day and prepare a healthy tastey dish.
