So what words come to mind when you think of the word “Diet”? I see “Depriving”, “No longer eat chocolate”, “depressing”, “No more carbs”. The word “diet” has many negative connotations to most people, because most people go on a diet when they want to lose weight. Unfortunately, because people deprive themselves of the food they like, and or eat too little, they can only maintain this for a short time. Soon after losing the weight they slowly begin eating the way they ate before and gain the weight they lost plus a few pounds. So what’s the solution you ask? The solution is to take the word “diet” out of your vocabulary. To lose weight you don’t have to deprive yourself of the foods you like! In fact, you may be surprised by how much you can eat. Remember these two helpful hints: exercise more, and eat what you like in moderation! If you increase your exercise and/or the intensity (how hard you work out), you will burn more calories. If you continue to eat the things you enjoy you are no longer depriving yourself and you are reducing your caloric intake.
