Safe Exercise for Pregnant Woman

When a woman becomes pregnant she often wonders whether she can exercise, and what exercises are safe. The first step is to check with your doctor. After your doctor gives you the go ahead, you can continue to do most exercises that you did prior to pregnancy. This includes swimming, powerwalking, aerobics, kickboxing (non-contact of course!), and even jogging. For me personally after the first 3 or 4 months jogging no longer felt comfortable. The key is to listen to your body. You know it better than anyone else. Be sure to drink plenty of water, get rest, and eat nutritious foods. Make sure that you workout at a moderate intensity so you can still talk (you should not be out of breath). If you feel dizzy or over heated be sure to stop exercising. Exercises to avoid are roller blading and horseback riding.
