Prenatal Yoga- Relaxation for a Good Night’s Sleep

When you’re pregnant, it’s like that you’ll find it more challenging to get a good nights sleep because of the pressure of the baby on your bladder, and the weight of the baby on your belly.  Prenatal yoga relaxation can help set your mind in a place of calm for a good nights sleep.  Try this simple relaxation exercise before bed:

Lay on your left side with your head on your pillow.  Bend your knees to 90 degree angles.  Close your eyes and take deep breathes into areas of tension.  As you exhale, imagine that your breath is creating “space” and decreasing the tension in your body.  Next, inhale a deep breath and as you exhale say to yourself, “relax”.  Imagine the breath of relaxation spreading through your body.  Repeat the breath and mantra as much as needed.  Drift off to a peaceful sleep.
