I’ve often been asked if it’s safe to get your heart rate up when you’re pregnant. First of all, it’s safe to exercise in general assuming you don’t have complications and your doctor approves. Second, yes, it’s safe to get your heartrate up, but you need to listen to your body. When you’re pregnant your heartrate will get up quicker because you are carrying your baby. If you ever feel dizzy, out of breath, or light headed you need to stop what you’re doing, sit down and drink water. However, you won’t get to that point if you are listening to how you feel. Just don’t push yourself too hard.
