A key to postpartum weight loss is to know when you are really hungry. We are so conditioned to eat at certain times. For example, most people look at their watch at 12 and think to themselves, “it’s lunchtime”. Instead ask yourself, “Am I really hungry?” Also, if you are hungry before 12 you should eat earlier instead. Our bodies give us clues as to when we are truly hungry. When you are hungry, you will feel an emptiness in your belly, your stomach may growl, and you will really want to eat. Tune into your body and learn to feel when you are hungry. When you learn your body’s cues, you will be less likely to consume calories when you don’t need too, and you will be less likely to feel so hungry that you eat too much at your next meal.
