To Sara of Fit by Sara: “I want to lose weight, and have cut back on what I’m eating, but all I can think about is food. What am I doing wrong?”
From Fit by Sara: “Because you are thinking about food all of the time, I’m guessing that you cut down too many calories too fast. I suggest cutting back on portion size slowly. Instead of eating the typical 3 meals a day, add 2 snacks. This way you’ll be eating more often but your portions will be smaller. Chose healthy snacks that will keep your energy up. Examples include nuts, lowfat cheese combined w/ a fruit, or a protien bar. The other advantage of eating more often is you’ll keep your blood sugar levels in check and thus minimize cravings.” -Sara Holliday MFT, CPT
