There are some weight loss programs that say you can eat a certain amount of calories per day and lose weight which is true. The problem is when you go by calories vs. nutritious value then people are likely to chose foods that aren’t necessarily good for their body. For example, you can have a good size nutritious and delicious sandwich made of avacado, cucumber, sprouts, lean turkey, and low-fat cheese on whole wheat bread or pita or a donut equaling about the same amount of calories. The sandwich is going to fuel your body–it will keep your energy going and you’ll feel good. With the donut you’ll lose steam after your “sugar-spike”. So think twice about calories…what would you rather have, the sandwich or the donut?
