Have you been counting calories hoping to lose your baby weight? If so you may have found that 1. it’s stressful 2. you can’t enjoy food 3. it makes you obsess about what you eat 4. it’s simply depressing. I tell my client’s, “If you want weight loss to be a life time change, counting calories is not something you can keep up, nor will you want too!” I recommend making simple changes such as drinking a full glass of water before you eat to ensure that you’re not dehydrated and mistaking hunger for thirst. Another simple change is to stop eating after your first portion, step away from the table and ask yourself, “Am I really hungry, or am I eating because it tastes good?” Simple changes such as drinking more water and stepping away from the table can result in significant reduction in calories and weight loss up to 2-5 lbs. a week!
