You’ve been exercising hard and eating well…surprisingly you’re even excited to get on the scale and see how your hard work has paid off. But as you look down to find out how much weight you’ve lost, you found the number went up a pound! Disappointed and discouraged you go to the fridge and have a pint of ice cream vowing to never exercise again. Sound familar? Even if it’s a little exaggerated, we put much too much value on the number on the scale, and I’ve NEVER met a woman who is happy with whatever number it says! In order to keep your sanity and see your progress focus on how your clothes fit and how good you feel after you exercise and eat healthy. It’s possible that your weight might not change dramatically because muscle weighs more than fat, and our weight can fluctuate up to 3 lbs. based on water weight. So I say “ditch your scale” and keep your focus on how good you feel and how much better you’re looking in your clothes!
