Postpartum Weight Loss: What to Eat Before You Do Yoga

To Sara of Fit by Sara: “I’ve recently started taking yoga classes in the evening. What do you suggest I eat before I workout?”

From Fit by Sara: “If you are doing yoga I recommend that you eat something light approximately 2 hrs. prior to your yoga practice. Because yoga involves twists and bends which work the digestive system, you want to make sure your food has been digested or you may feel uncomfortable when you exercise. Examples of things you could eat a couple hours prior to your practice are a small to moderate portion of brown rice with tofu or grilled chicken and veggies, a protien smoothie, or a salad with a protien and a piece of whole grain bread.” -Sara Holliday MFT, CPT
