Postpartum Weight Loss- Lose Weight by Eating When You’re Hungry

I know it might sound strange that you will lose weight if you eat when you’re hungry, but you will!  Instead of dieting or “depriving” (which results only in temporary weight loss), eating when you’re hungry provides weight loss that lasts a lifetime.  The first step is to learn when your body is hungry.  As soon as you feel hungry choose healthy foods that will nourish and fuel your body.  You will probably notice that your body is hungry more often than you realized.  However when you eat more often, your portions will be smaller which will prevent cravings.  You’ll also notice that by eating more often your energy will stay elevated.  Many people fear that if they eat when they are hungry they’ll be eating all the time, but I assure you that will not be the case!  You will eat a 2-3 times more than when you “deprived” your body, but you’ll eat smaller portions.  The result of this simple philosophy–weight loss, and energy–a healthy lifestyle that lasts! -Sara Holliday MFT, CPT
