Getting Your Kids to Eat Their Veggies

To Sara of Fit by Sara: “I eat healthy most of the time, but I can’t get my kids to eat any veggies.  Any tips?”

From Fit by Sara: “You’re not alone.  Many kids dislike veggies and won’t eat them.  I’ve had this problem too.  There’s a few things you can do.  1. Buy a yummy low fat dressing such as ranch. Poor the dressing into a small cup and let them dip their carrots and brocoli. I found my kids love to dip their veggies! 2.  Stir fry veggies in stir fry vegetable sauce and olive oil and top over thin whole wheat pasta.  My kids love the taste of stir fry, and the added bonus is the pasta 3. Disguise veggies in other dishes.  For example, puree the veggies in a blender and mix with turkey meat to make a patty or meat for tacos.  They won’t even notice. Good luck!” -Sara Holliday MFT, CPT
